Mgr. Vladimír Uhde
Experience, Legal Specialization: Vladimír Uhde is a Partner with the BBH law firm and is co-head of the Litigation and Energy Law departments. Within the scope of litigation, Mr. Uhde focuses on commercial court and arbitration proceedings. He also has extensive experience in Energy Law and further focuses on Media Law. Over the course of his career Mr. Uhde has advised numerous domestic and foreign investors in the completion of major acquisitions, particularly in the energy sector in various countries, including the Czech and Slovak Republics, Russia and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Mr. Uhde is a long standing legal advisor in many projects for the ČEZ Group, the largest energy concern in the Czech Republic. Recently, Vladimir participated on ČEZ’ behalf as the head legal adviser in a project of the acquisition and construction of a wide range of photovoltaic resources in the Czech Republic with a total installed capacity exceeding 100 MW and he further advised ČEZ in a wide range of issues relating to energy regulation. In the litigation area, Vladimir leads and has led the representation of both Czech and foreign clients in various significant disputes including international and domestic arbitration proceedings, institutional and ad hoc, as well as disputes before domestic courts and significant foreign venues such as the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg.
Recently, among others, Vladimir represented Czech investors in arbitration proceedings according to the UNCITRAL rules the value of which exceeded EUR 800 million and an international real estate developer in an arbitration arising from a construction contract,the value which was EUR 31.8 million. Mr. Uhde acted for asignificant international investment group as legal advisor in a complex umbrella dispute included various disputes in different legal jurisdictions, including English and Cypriot.
Mr. Uhde also acts as an arbitrator of the Prague Arbitration Court attached to the Economic Chamber ofthe Czech Republic and the Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic and he is a member of the Young International Arbitration Group at the London Court of International Arbitration. Vladimír is also the author of publications in the PLC Cross-border Arbitration Handbook and the PLC Cross-border Dispute Resolution Handbook.
