Experience, Legal specialization: Tomas Politzer is a Senior Associate with BBH. In his practice, he focuses particularly on the field of civil and commercial litigation, in which he has gained considerable experience in representing both Czech and foreign clients in court, arbitration, administrative and other proceedings. Tomas also provides legal advice in real estate law and his further specializations include insurance, insolvency and bankruptcy law.

Tomas has taken part in the successful represention of clients in a number of court and other disputes with overall values amounting to billions CZK. He was a member of the BBH team which represented a high profile client in exceptionally involved proceedings held before the European Court of Human Rights in Strasburg. Tomas successfully represented a leading global provider of energy sector technologies in an arbitration dispute for the payment of insurance amounting to tens of millions CZK against the leading Czech provider of receivables non-payment risk coverage. Tomas also acts on behalf of a major client in several complex mutually-interconnected bankruptcy and related litigation proceedings with a value exceeding CZK 300 million. Further, he provides legal advice to a CSTV member sport association in a dispute arisen in connection with the transfer of a leading athlete in the respective sport. Tomas is also often sought by BBH clients in connection with real estate transactions, including the preparation and negotiation of contractual documentation.

Tomas graduated from the Law Faculty of the Charles University in Prague. He is an attorney-at-law registered with the Czech Bar Association. Tomas joined BBH in 2004 and he is the co-author of the Practical Guide to the New Insolvency Law.
