Mgr. Robert Klenka
Experience, Legal Specialization: Robert Klenka is a Senior Lawyer at BBH. His primary focus is on the issues of civil law litigation and he specializes and has acquired invaluable experience in representing and standing proxy for clients in significant trade disputes held before general courts of law and in arbitration proceedings.
In one such arbitration proceeding, Mr. Klenka played a significant role in successfully representing a company doing business in the oil and gas production field. The value of the dispute in question amounted to billions of Czech crowns. In an arbitration proceeding held on the subject of the price of an acquisition transaction, he successfully defended the interests of a world-renowned publishing house. Most recently, he participated in the successful enforcement of penalty claims in an arbitration proceeding held in Vienna. These penalty claims originated from a breach of contractual obligations regulating the investment policy and co-operation of shareholders of one of the most significant heavy machinery groups in the Czech Republic and amounted to tens of millions of Czech crowns. Robert is also actively involved in the preparatory work for the legal restructuring of companies and the implementation thereof. In cooperation with the partners of the law office, he took part in the securing and protection of investments of one of the most prominent Czech companies. Due to the nature of his practice, Mr. Klenka’s specialization is very broad and also encompasses, among other things, bankruptcy, insurance and labour law.
Robert Klenka was also involved in the protection of client interests in connection with the unauthorized use of a certain real estate property by third parties. In this case, Mr. Klenka made extensive use of his knowledge of construction law, in particular, by finding a solution to the issues of implemented building conversions; examining the legal nature of individual structural components and construction works and their implementation in compliance with relevant regulations as well as the legal nature roads and highways and the legitimacy of their use, etc. Robert Klenka has been employed with the law offices of BBH since the year 2000. In the year 2001, Mr. Klenka successfully finished his studies at the Faculty of Law at Charles University in Prague. In the year 2004 he acquired the position of Senior Lawyer at the firm.
