Experience, Legal Specialisation: Tomáš Pešek joined BBH in 2001 and in 2005 he became a Senior Lawyer, focusing on M&A, Real Estate, Capital Markets Law and all aspects of Corporate Law. A major concentration of Mr. Pesek’s on-going work is dedicated to providing professional counsel to several significant Czech and foreign business entities related to their M&A business.

In 2007 Tomáš Pešek provided complete legal service and advised in connection with the establishment of a sophisticated (hedge) investment fund. This achievement is uniquely significant due to the fact that this newly established investment fund is the first hedge investment fund in the Czech Republic which remains independent of the bank groups and, simultaneously, is the first self-governing hedge investment fund in the Czech Republic. In 2009 Tomáš Pešek as the leading lawyer of the BBH team advised ŠKODA HOLDING a.s. in the sale of its subsidiary Škoda Power, a.s., the world's leading producer of steam turbines, heat exchangers and other technological devices in the energy field, to the Korean company Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction. The transaction is valued at approximately 11.5 billion CZK and it has been regarded as one of the largest M & A transactions in the entire CEE region for 2009.

Tomáš Pešek is the author of several articles relating particularly to capital markets (investment funds) and M&A, two of the leading areas of his practice. Tomáš has been often recommended by the professional publications as a leading practitioner in mergers & acquisitions (e.g. International Financial Law Review and The Guide to Mergers and Acquisitions, etc.).

He is a member of the Collective Investments Commission established by AFAM CR (Czech Capital Markets Association). In 2006, he was admitted to the Bar Association of Slovakia as an attorney at law, where he also practices law in selected cases for Czech, Slovak and Russian clients. Tomáš Pešek has leading responsibilities in the Prague, Bratislava and Moscow offices of the firm.
