Jan Kadrnožka Appointed as New Partner at BBH
The management team of BBH, a Czech-Slovak law firm with an international reach providing top-tier legal services to clients particularly in the areas of dispute resolution, mergers and acquisitions, banking and financial regulation, competition law and insolvency, has been strengthened by a new member. As of 1 January 2026, Jan Kadrnožka has been promoted from senior attorney to partner of the firm. He focuses on litigation, arbitration and insolvency matters.

Jan Kadrnožka represents clients in court proceedings and arbitrations, focusing primarily on disputes related to M&A transactions, disputes between current or former shareholders, disputes arising from failed investment projects, unfair competition disputes, as well as private enforcement of competition law. In insolvency proceedings, he provides legal support to insolvency administrators, creditors and debtors. Since 2023, he has also served as an arbitrator at the Arbitration Court attached to the Czech Chamber of Commerce and the Agricultural Chamber of the Czech Republic.
Jan Kadrnožka graduated from the Faculty of Law of Masaryk University and the Faculty of Economics and Administration of Masaryk University. He also studied at the Faculty of Law of the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. He speaks English and German.

JUDr. Jaroslav Brož, insolvency administrator – Disputes with shareholders of Bohemia Energy
Since 2021, Jan Kadrnožka has been involved in providing comprehensive legal advice and representation to insolvency administrator Tomáš Bárta, who became a shareholder of Bohemia Energy in 2014 but was subsequently squeezed out by the other shareholders. Since then, dozens of court disputes have been ongoing regarding the validity of general meetings, exclusion of assets from the insolvency estate and claims for damages. In 2025, our team achieved several procedural successes in this case.
O2 Czech Republic a.s. – Defence against private enforcement of competition law
One of the largest damages disputes concerning alleged abuse of a dominant position in the form of margin squeeze has been ongoing since 2011. Jan Kadrnožka joined the team in 2022 after the originally favourable judgments for the client were overturned by the Supreme Court. Since then, the team has once again succeeded before the court of first instance, and Jan Kadrnožka, together with other colleagues and domestic and international economic experts, is currently defending the client’s rights in proceedings before the appellate court.
Iveco S.p.A.
The BBH team is involved in defending clients from the Iveco group in damages litigation relating to an alleged cartel among truck manufacturers described by the European Commission in 2016.
AMADEUS Real Estate a.s.
Jan Kadrnožka is involved in advising the client in relation to the future development of valuable land in Prague 6. Between 2019 and 2023, he was a key member of the team that led the defence of the client in litigation concerning the validity of underlying agreements. After the successful conclusion of the disputes, he is now working with other experts to help the client establish contractual and ownership arrangements necessary for the development of the area, which will in the future become a nationally significant transport and cultural hub as well as a new residential district.
Škoda Group
Jan Kadrnožka leads the team providing legal advice to the Pilsen-based engineering group Škoda in connection with the protection of its reputation and intellectual property. He also participated in the negotiation and preparation of transaction documentation for the sale of the portfolio of trademarks of Škoda Plzeň to Škoda Auto.
